Cabin is Coming Along!

Work has not stopped at the Maker's Place. Tim continues to volunteer every Friday to renovate the cabin, he has been joined by some super helpers which we hugely appreciate! There are oak skirting boards in place, the storage cupboard is ready to be used with shelves and a door. There are some lovely oak shelves over the utility sink. The commercial grade flooring has been put in, this was a big expensive job in the end, the floor had to be latex levelled and Tim taught himself how to do the heat sealing joints. There are now some heaters in the cabin and tea room. There are a few little things left to do after which the next big priority is access steps/ramp and toilets as we cannot open to the public until we have these in place.

Dan has ploughed the vegetable patch and we hope to soon be able to make some paths and start planting up. There are some strawberry plants in some donated troughs by the cabin, we have also been given some tractor tyres which will be great for raised up beds. Sarah and Dan have got two cute little orphaned lambs which have been bottle feed these last couple of weeks. The cows are growing well in the barn.

We have been turned down for another grant which is frustrating as the applications can be time consuming, however we are trusting God will provide what is needed at the right time. On the plus though we now have a proper Community Interest Bank account, we applied for this last year so relieved it has finally been processed.

Think that is about it for now. We do hope to be able to open up soon once everything is ready we will let you know. We are currently thinking over some ideas for Summer activities at the farm again we will be in touch once the details are finalised.

Thanks ever so much for your ongoing support and interest in what we are doing it really is greatly appreciated.

Love from Becca and the team. X
